JMS Education Consulting.
Ensuring students receive the education they deserve.
“I want to help my child, but I don’t know where to start…”
If you feel that your son or daughter is struggling academically, socially, emotionally, or in other areas, you can get help. Your child deserves that help! You can talk to the school about your concerns, and the options for how the concerns can be addressed.
If it doesn’t make sense, or your concerns are not being addressed to your satisfaction, JMS Educational Consulting is here to help. Joanna Salzman is here to talk to you, learn about your child, listen, and really hear you.
We will then come up with next steps. It could be testing to take a deeper dive into what is happening, but it also could be an observation where I can recommend strategies to help and support your child’s success. There are so many avenues for your child to get help!
JMS Educational Consulting will work with you, and the school, to make sure we choose the right path so that results, based on real hard data, show improvement! Please remember, when working with Joanna, you are never alone.
Our approach
Our goal at JMS Education Consulting is to help and support you in identifying what to do so your child can be successful. We believe families and schools must work together to meet the needs of all students. Together, we will define what success means for your child. This includes the IEP and 504 processes as appropriate.
Our approach is to partner with both the family and the school to ensure the student’s success.
If you’ve ever wondered if your child needs help, then JMS Education Consulting is most likely your next step. Joanna wants to support you through the journey of getting your child the help they need and deserve. If the school is not providing what your child needs to be successful, then they might need to conduct an evaluation. The evaluation results can lead to identifying supports they need to learn. The supports can be defined, if your child meets the eligibility criteria, as special education services through an IEP (Individualized Education Program), or possibly a 504 plan, that gives your child accommodations, and/or specialized instruction. We can discuss what this means together, and you can look at these resources to help define these terms.
In-person and remote options.
Our office is conveniently located in Maryland! Can’t make it into the office? No worries – we’ve got you covered nation-wide with remote options!
“Joanna Salzman not only holds herself to this high standard by example, but also holds these standards for others, with simultaneously inspiring them to want to do so for themselves. This is a rare and much needed gift for educational professionals and parents in today’s world and those of the future.”
